Where Verdant Tech was stuck.
Verdant Tech managed sustainability reporting for a portfolio of 14 companies, each with different data formats, reporting cadences, and regulatory frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD). The process relied on 140-tab Excel workbooks, quarterly email collection, and a two-person team doing full-time data reconciliation. Errors were common and audit trails were non-existent.
How we solved it.
We built a multi-tenant web platform where each portfolio company has a data entry interface tailored to their reporting framework. Data is validated at input, stored in a normalised Postgres schema, and surfaced through a portfolio-level dashboard with drill-down by company, metric, and time period. Report generation exports audit-ready PDFs mapped to GRI, SASB, or TCFD frameworks at the click of a button. The UI was designed with non-technical sustainability managers as the primary persona.
Results that matter.
All 14 portfolio companies were onboarded within 6 weeks of launch. The two-person reconciliation team was redeployed to analysis work. Quarterly reporting time fell from 6 weeks to 4 days. The first external audit conducted using the platform's export passed with zero material findings.
